Cornell Baja Racing

We Design, Build and Race our off-road vehicle

Cornell's Baja Racing team consists of 50 students who collaborate to design, manufacture, and test an off-road vehicle annually. Each year, we develop a completely new vehicle, leveraging insights from previous designs to enhance performance and durability. Our team is divided into sub teams which allow us to design the whole nearly every component in the car, from the its frame to its gear systems. We take part in three competitions national competitions across the United States each year, where we consistently perform at a high level, including achieving first-place finishes in recent events.

Rear Hubs

The rear hubs are a critical component in the Cornell Baja Racing vehicle, serving as the interface between the wheels, driveshaft, and suspension sys- tem. Positioned at the connection point between these systems, the rear hubs are responsible for transferring torque from the driveshaft through the fixed cup stub axle to the wheels, enabling the vehicle to move efficiently and effectively. By ensuring a reliable transmission of power, the hubs play an essential role in the vehicle’s overall drivetrain performance.
